It's hard to talk with someone who's mostly giving you one or two-word replies. It puts too much pressure on you to keep the interaction going, and if you have trouble thinking of things to say yourself, the conversation may stall out before long. Here are some tips to possibly turn things around. Note that this article is about in-person conversations where the other person isn't saying much.
